Private, tailor-made safaris across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and beyond — designed by a local team in Arusha, and guided by people who know exactly where to look.
Nowhere else can you witness the Great Migration, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, climb Kilimanjaro and end on the white sands of Zanzibar — all in a single trip.
Taswira Africa Safaris exists to help you experience it properly. We were founded by George, a professional safari guide who knows Tanzania’s wilderness intimately — from its great migrations to its quietest corners.
Today we’re a small, local team based in Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Every journey is planned and guided by people who live here, and every detail is designed around you — nothing is left to chance.
A general guide — wildlife movements vary from year to year. We’ll advise on your exact dates.

Your Safari Specialists Are With You Every Step of the Way
Taswira was founded by George, a professional safari guide who knows Tanzania’s wilderness intimately. Today we are a small, local company based in Arusha — every safari is planned, organised and guided by our team on the ground.
Our guides are born and raised in Tanzania, deeply knowledgeable about its wildlife and cultures, and passionate about sharing it with every guest.
Kilimanjaro is strenuous but non-technical — if you’re fit and determined, the 5,895 m summit is within reach. Our mountain crews set an unhurried pace, from rainforest to glacier, and an extra day is built in to help you adjust to the altitude.
Tell us your travel dates, group size and budget — our safari specialists will build a personalised Tanzania itinerary just for you. Completely free, no commitment.
There’s wonderful wildlife year-round. The long dry season (roughly June–October) is classic game-viewing time, January–March brings the calving season in the southern Serengeti, and the green season offers lush landscapes and quieter parks. We’ll advise on the best timing for your dates.
How much does a Tanzania safari cost?
Our day trips start from $290 per person and multi-day private safaris from around $695 per person. Your dates, trip length, group size and choice of lodges all shape the final price — we’ll prepare a clear, itemised quote.
Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania?
Most visitors need a visa, and many nationalities can apply online before travel. Requirements change, so please check the current rules for your passport with Tanzania’s official immigration service — we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak migration months and popular lodges, earlier is better — many guests plan 6–12 months ahead. We can often arrange wonderful trips at shorter notice too, so just ask.
Can I customise my itinerary?
Yes — every Taswira safari is private and tailor-made. Use any itinerary as a starting point, or tell us what you have in mind and we’ll design it around you.
What about payments, insurance and cancellations?
We’ll explain payment steps clearly in your quote, and we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance. Full details are in our terms & conditions.
What vehicle will we travel in?
A fully maintained 4WD safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for exceptional, uninterrupted wildlife viewing — private to your group.
Will we have the same guide throughout?
Yes. Your guide travels with you from start to finish, giving you continuity and a genuine connection throughout your journey.
Is drinking water provided?
Yes — every guest receives a stainless-steel refillable bottle and there is clean drinking water on board. All our tours are zero plastic.
Can you cater for dietary needs and celebrations?
Absolutely. We love the details — from making sure you get the meals you need to celebrating a birthday or anniversary in the Serengeti.
Can you arrange a Kilimanjaro climb?
Yes. We plan Kilimanjaro treks on their own or combined with a safari and time on Zanzibar. See Kilimanjaro trekking.
Which route is right for me?
It depends on your fitness, time and the scenery you’d like. More days on the mountain generally means better acclimatisation — we’ll recommend a route that suits you.
When is the best time to climb?
The drier months are generally the most popular for climbing. Share your dates and we’ll give you honest advice on conditions.
Can we combine a safari with Zanzibar?
Absolutely — it’s one of our favourite combinations, with seamless connections between the bush and the beach. Discover Zanzibar.
How long should we spend on Zanzibar?
Most guests enjoy three to six nights — enough to unwind on the beach and explore Stone Town’s history.
Where should we stay on the island?
Each coast has its own character, from lively to secluded. Tell us what you love and we’ll suggest stays to match.
